Ghanaian hiplife artiste, Emmanuel Nana Appiah Boateng popularly known as Kontihene has called for a qualified and a professional administrator to manage the affairs of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

Kontihene speaking in an interview with Dj Murphy Lee on Entertainment Extra on Sunyani based Metro FM, bemoaned that the current administration of the association lacks managerial skills to steer the affairs of the body—hence, there’s they need to usher the position to administrative professionals outside the organization to provide strategic insight and innovations that will be vital and beneficial to the group.

According to him, MUSIGA needs someone who is tactical, process-oriented, and driven toward continuous improvement to set administrative priorities to achieve its goals and objectives.

The “Aketesea’ hitmaker commenting on the upcoming elections of the union disclosed that he is not supporting any of the contestants—and believes a professional administrator will do better than what they will contribute.

“I am not supporting Obour, Ambulley or Appiatus because it is a helm of affairs that needs to be ushered to somebody to run. Musicians should concentrate on their music making and programmers should also concentrate on their work and leave the position for those who qualify to take over.

“If we have a qualified administrator, we the musicians and union members can have a meeting and suggest to them how we want things to progress,” he added.

He lamented that, “it is only poor musicians who don’t have a hit song currently, that are fighting for positions just to tiptoe from the covers of the association.”
