Christmas is one of the most important periods on the
Christian Calendar, and is often closely connected to other holidays at this
time of the year.
Generally, Christmas is a time when Christians believe their
follower, Christ was born and also time for merry making. People are very busy
in preparation towards the eve, cleaning and decoration, buying food and
presents and cooking for the Christmas feast.
But…comparing to previous years, one may say there’s
something wrong somewhere.
To ascertain what the cause is…News Hunter Magazine gathered
from the streets of Sunyani that, businesses in the Brong Ahafo regional
capital had slowed down due to the ‘break of operations’ by DKM Diamond
Microfinance Limited—and other financial institutions who have made away with
the investments of their customers.
Residents complained of untold hardship—and prophesized that
things may grow from bad to worst if the government and authorities doesn’t
wake up from their sleep to help solve this daisy issue.
Speaking to The News Hunter Magazine, over 90% of the people
at Sunyani claimed how boring this year’s Christmas has been in the city.
They lamented that the fortunes of reaping something good
from an investment has now turned into a curse.
Moreover, sales are not moving on as compared to the
previous years according to the market women.
The residents intimidated that failure to pay customers
deposits in good time by DKM has worsened their woes even though court had
ordered DKM Diamond Microfinance Limited to refund their deposit.
