Asamoah Williams of Willie and Mike fame has made a
passionate appeal to his fellow gospel musicians to voice out the bad treatment
that they receive from Charterhouse, the organizers of Vodafone Ghana Music
Awards (VGMA).
He said over the years the organizers of VGMA have failed to
be fair in the organization of the awards.

“The Gospel Music Category was having four (4) slots in the
year 2006…but it has now been reduced to three (3) and if we don’t take care it
will be reduce to two (2)…If we continue to keep mute.”
According to him Charterhouse is doing their best but the
right thing and fairness must prevail.
He said Ghanaian gospel musicians are suffering because they
do not have people who know much about gospel music to represent them on the
VGMA board.
“We need people who are technically inclined to be on the
board and fight for our well being,” he told Mr. Lattus on J.life Fm
Entertainment Chart Show.
He stated that he has nothing bad against Charterhouse and
he is also not ‘inciting violence’ against the event organizers.
“This is what we have for now…everything that bears the name
of Ghana is for all of us…so the right thing must be done,” he said.
