Pastor, Elder Perishes In Atebubu Robbery

A Pastor and his Church Elder have perished in a suspected
robbery incident which occurred on the Atebubu-Kumasi highway on Sunday.

Techiman Times has gathered that the Head Pastor of the
Apostolic Church in Sene East, Pastor Saki and an Elder of the Church, Elder
Ampah died on the spot after they were shot by the suspected robbers.

An escapee from the scene disclosed that it took the police
a very long time before they got to scene—after the robbers have already finish
with their operations.

“They suddenly emerged from the bush and started shooting at
vehicles that refused to stop. And when I stopped my car, they asked me to lie
down and close my eyes and they took my money, about GHC250.00 from my pocket.
As for the pastor and his elder they just shot at them before asking them to
stop.

“I could identify at least two Fulanis and one twi speaking
guy, who I believe is an Akan,” he recounted.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the
Atebubu Government hospital pending autopsy.

The sene District head of operations of Police ASP George
Antwi Tano who confirmed the story to the media says the police have launch
investigations into the matter.
