Nhyira Betty

Ghanaian Gospel singer/songwriter, Nhyira Betty has advised
her fellow musicians not to concentrate on the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards
(VGMA).

Nhyira Betty asserted that the award scheme is not credible—and
she will soon organize one in her room and share it to musicians in the
country.

The ‘Apam Adaka’ singer alleged that some musicians who did
not release any song during the year under review are awarded by the
organizers.
“It seems the VGMA is a family award…they always plan to do
what they want. I will just concentrate on my career…I don’t value it…it’s
worthy for my maker to reward me.
“People will collapse if they put their will and trust in
this award. Musicians should stop following it,” she told Mr. Lattus on J.Life
Fm’s Entertainment Chart Show.
Nhyira Betty suggested that the organizers of the VGMA
should allow the musicians to take part in the voting process before the
opportunity will be given to the general public.
