Veteran Ghanaian gospel artiste Yaw Agyemang Benjamin,
popularly known as Rev. YABS has urged up and coming gospel musicians to seek
advice from the veterans who pave the way for them.
The ‘Ne Mu Na Nkwa Wo’ singer speaking with Mr. Lattus on J.Life
Fm Chat Show said authorities should put measures in place to ensure
significant growth of the industry.

He believes the industry is not effective as their time due
to the dormant nature of Copy Right Officials to punish musicians who infringe
on copyright issues.
 “The copy right
authorities are not doing what they are supposed to do, that’s why the gospel
industry is not as effective as it was way back. Today, you hardly hear of
people being punish for using other musician’s song without seeking permission
from them first.”
Rev. YABS observed that the policies which were put in place
by Former MUSIGA President, Sadiku Buari, helped the growth of the industry.
“Sadiku Buari did marvelously well during his term at
office. A ban will be placed on your song if they found out that you’re using
someone’s property without seeking permission,” he stated.
He said most musicians today are not creative and only
resort to imitating already existing songs.
Rev. YABS emphasized on the needs for the young and upcoming
gospel musicians to consult the old artists who has been in the industry for so
many years with their music be the release them.
He advised the new crop of musicians not to focus on money…but
rather made up their minds to serve God with their talents.
He also admonish them to devote much time to do the will of
their creator, discover what God want them to do…and have the mindset that they
are serving God with the Grace and talents God has given them and He (God) will
give them good words to compose their songs with their talents.
