The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command have launched a manhunt for suspected armed robbers who killed Corporal Humphrey Lumor at Kukuom in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Corporal Humphrey reportedly died on Saturday after he was shot by the suspected robbers during an operation to foil their act.
Public Relations Officer of the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command, ASP Christopher Tawiah confirming the incident told Kwabena Obeng Akrofi on Ark In The Morning that the Police patrol team went to the scene around 11pm on Thursday upon a tip off.
“A section of the road from Kukuom near Anhwiaso to Bibiani was blocked. The team got to scene to witness numerous vehicles lined up…but unfortunate one of the officers got injured following a shot by the robbers from a nearby bush.”
ASP Tawiah said the Corporal who was hospitalized sadly passed on at the Goaso Hospital on Saturday.
The mortal remain of Corporal Humphrey Lumor has been deposited at the Police hospital morgue in Accra, according to ASP Christopher Tawia.
He died at the age of 35.
ASP Christopher Tawiah said the partnership between the police administration and the public will help to clamp down on the increasing rate of armed robbery cases in the region.
