After releasing the ‘Awurade Kasa’ song to kick start her peace campaign, Maame Lucy has disclosed that she did not released the song because of the upcoming elections.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Kwame Adjei Bohyen on Issues on Ark Fm, Maame Lucy explained that the Awurade Kasa song was released because everybody needs peace in his/her daily life.

According to her, there is peace in the country but there’s the need for Ghanaians to pray for the sustenance of it.

She further stated that releasing the ‘Awurade Kasa’ track at this juncture falls within her to do list—and not with the indication that there will be no peace in the country.

“It is something that I planned to do…and this is the right time because I was having a lot on my hands. It is not because of the elections. It is important to preach about peace because without it we cannot do anything in this country. ”

Maame Lucy known in private life as Lucy Oforiwaa Amanfo called on Ghanaians to unite ahead of the polls—and even in their daily lives.

“Election should not be of violence. Do not fight one another because you are not in the same party with them. Vote and leave the polling center peacefully when the time is due,” she advised.
