The Black Queens of Ghana became victorious in the final game against Ivory Coast in the Wafu Zone B Women’s Tournament.
The Ivorians failed to respond to Jane Egyir’s first-half strike after she calmly converted from a close range.
Defeating the Ivorians is a sweet revenge for the Ghanaian side following a loss to their counterparts at the beginning of the tournament.
Ghana winning the maiden trophy of the Wafu Zone B Women’s Tournament wasn’t the only historic moment for the day, the head coach, Mercy Tagoe has also become the first female coach to attain a feat of winning a trophy for the Senior Female National Team of Ghana.
She was appointed interim manager following the surprise resignation of Mas -Ud Didi Dramani.
Congratulations to the Black Queens!!!
