Vice President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons has explained why it is important to educate musicians in the country.
He said the conduct of musicians play a critical role so there is the need to organize workshops to reorient them.
“There are so many things that need to change in the music industry. One way to better the fortunes of the industry is to organize workshops to enlighten our musicians about what music entails especially the business aspect because music is not cheap,” the veteran musician told GNA.
“As a musician, young people look up to you as a means of inspiration, so whatever you do has impacts on numerous lives. So, there would be a need to educate them on how their behaviour on stage directly impacts the audience,” he added.
Bessa Simons is seeking for the position as MUSIGA president in the upcoming elections by the union on June 26, 2019.
