What is happening to Kwasi Twum’s Multimedia is mind-boggling no matter how one tries to rack his brain to understand. The rampant & uncontrollable movement of employees from the giant Media house to other competitive stations cannot & will never be understood. I remember when Captain Smart was suspended, rumours of negligence & bullying on the part of Multimedia & Adom Fm management specifically months ago were flying across town.
In two shakes of a Lamb’s tail, the rate at which workers are moving out of the popular Multimedia group is something to ponder over. Can the rumours be true about the management of Multimedia??
Few years after Adakabr3 & Abeiku Santana left Adom Fm, Captain Smart became a household name after Adakabr3 but now, Smart is no where to be found, Is Captain joining ABN Accra? that only the Father knows?
Another big name, whose resignation came as a big surprise attached with a lot of rumours was their news anchor, Kofi Domah Nwanwani & host of Pampaso.
Few months after Kofi’s departure came Ohemaa Woyeje followed by the indefatigable Mannesseh Azure whom I mostly referred to as Mr Donkomi? After his ‘Donkomi’ documentary, he was retailed on the market & made to resign.
As if it was not enough, only for us to wake up to another big departure, Afia Pokuaa, also known as “Baadey worker” who read the news on peace Fm’s 12:00 midday news yesterday. The obvious thing that shows Afia Pokuas left on a bad note is her statement she made, “I have joined radio University” meaning the former was preparatory or better still secondary, knowing very well that the two giant media houses (Multimedia & Despite Group) are involved in a cold war.
Who is going to host TV3’s mentor this year? another entertainment goddess, MzGee, after pondering over the above? One does not need a soothsayer to tell all is not well at multimedia.
If football teams do millions of things & spend billions of money to keep their Ronaldo’s & Messi’s,
I would entreat media houses to do their best to ensure radio presenters welfare & well-being.
