What You Need To Know About Francis K. Kusi, The PPP Parliamentary Candidate For Sunyani East Constituency

Francis Kwabena Kusi was born on 3rd October 1989.

He started his early childhood education at St Mary’s Preparatory School. He was elected Assistant School Prefect in his final year where he served in diligence and with unflinching dedication in 2004/2005.

Francis in formative years lived with his Uncle, Mongsinor Joseph Marfo Gyimah who is a Senior Catholic Priest and currently the Regional Chairman of IPAC B/A. Affectionately called father Gyimah, This man had an influence in his life and imparted in him virtues of honesty, commitment, fellow-feeling, hard work, compassion and selflessness.

Francis K. Kusi is a staunch Catholic and hails from Yaw Sae in the Sunyani East Constituency. He is also from the “Mmrasa Abusua’ in the Sunyani Traditional Area and an indigene of the Community.

He gained admission to study at Opoku Ware Senior High School (OWASS) in Santasi-Kumasi after he passed his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) with distinction. Francis was a chorister and a mass server at high school. He completed OWASS in 2008 where he had his WASSCE certificate (General Arts).

In 2009, Francis K. Kusi began his Tertiary education at the Catholic University College of Ghana (CUCG) in Sunyani. He travelled to South Africa where he enrolled in bank teller certificate course at Coltech Training College Afrisa which is in Cape Town in August 2012 during his college days at CUCG. He offered BSc. Economics and Business Administration, a major in Human Resources Management.

After he completed his tertiary education (1st degree) at CUCG in 2013, Francis served the nation and did his national service at Atebubu Amanten D/A JHS as a teacher in the year 2013/2014.

In May 2014, he enrolled at the Department of Maritime Studies at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in South Africa, one of Africa’s premier university. (Incorporating marine engineering; marine navigation and off-shore survival). Instructor = L.P Mokhine, Senior Marine Instructor: C.W KAPP.

In 2014/2015, Francis K. Kusi volunteered and worked as a teacher at Prestwich Primary School in Cape Town through the Shine Centre, WORDS CAN CHANGE WORLDS.

Through the Phoenix Study Support, He enrolled for the NEBOSH International General Certificate (1,2 &3 ) in Occupational Health and Safety at Cape Town, South Africa in 2015.

He also studied at the SIMA Oil and Gas Upstream Division where he was awarded a certificate in oil and gas. In September 2014, all rights, privileges and honours given to him in Accra on 28th September 2014. GNPC permit No: 1361411.

In 2015/2016 academic year, He started his postgraduate studies in Education at Catholic University. He did his teaching practice during the post-graduate studies at Twumasikrom J.H.S in the Sunyani West Constituency.

Francis’s interest in sports and football player management made him venture into football administration and became the Vice-Chairman of D.C United Football Club, one of the best second division clubs in the Bono Region in 2015-2017.

He is a founding member of the PPP in 2012. He is identified deeply with the ideals of the party and that of the founder. Francis K. Kusi decided to vie for the position as a parliamentary candidate for the party in 2020 general elections in the Sunyani East constituency.

He has had the (Catholic) disciplinary conduct instilled in him due to his training at Catholic Institutions which includes St Mary’s, OWASS and CUCG. Apart from being industrious, hardworking, competent, accessible and a selfless person, Francis has vowed to be accountable to his constituents if he is given the nod to lead and raise the bar for constituency governance.

Francis was an accredited OBSERVER during the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections for the Catholic Church, Sunyani Diocese.

As a stunt Catholic believer, he was initiated into the Christ the King Commandery #393 as a Knight of St. John International member.

He was inducted into Rotary International, Sunyani East Charter in 2017 as a member. Though he is currently not an active member, he still contributes to some of its charity programs when the need arises and has become a friend of the club.

He is engaged and a family man with kids.

Francis K. Kusi started business in 2015 by trading in electricals and has six (6) employees. He has been a philanthropist for a decade.

Francis believes in team building. He is a committed goal-getter and realistic.
