The final funeral rites of Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings have been postponed.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration to the international community and diplomatic missions announced the decision taken through a statement released today, December 17, 2020.
“…Due to unforeseen circumstances, the funeral will not be held from 20th December, 2020 as planned.
“The new date for the funeral will be communicated in due course,” part of the statement read.
The former Ghanaian President, Jerry John Rawlings sadly died on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra following a short illness.
