A member of the Keche music group, Andrew Kofi Cudjoe has asserted that it is not safe for artistes to endorse political parties in Ghana.

He stressed on some musicians in the country who have had their careers truncated after they endorsed some political parties.

Andrew made this statement when speaking in an interview with Doctar Cann on Happy FM.

“In Ghana, we have not grown in political issues as compared to other countries. In those places, an artiste can endorse a political party and that will not affect them in anyway. But the situation is different here in Ghana.

“There are many stories of celebrities losing their careers because they endorsed political parties and these Ghanaian artistes always come out to complain about it,” he stated.

He reiterated their stance not to endorse any political party as a group.

“In Ghana, politics is a very emotional affair. We have fans who belong to different political parties and when you endorse one, you divide your fan base and it affects you. We will not endorse any party,” Andrew emphasized.

Musicians or public figures endorsing political parties have been a topic dominating in discussions for some time now.

Do you think it is okay for them to endorse political parties?
