The former Member of Parliament for Nadowli West, Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin has been voted as Speaker of Ghana’s 8th Parliament.
His victory comes after ended his role as the Second Deputy Speaker of the 7th Parliament some hours ago.
The election of the Speaker of the 8th Parliament saw a lot of chaotic scenes.
It was a long night of process from January 6, 2021, before he was announced the next Speaker of the 8th Parlaiment on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
Mr Bagbin defeated NPP’s Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye.
