Ghanaian actress, Beverly Afaglo has raised some concerns about the music industry in the country.
Following the feat of Nigeria’s Burna Boy and Wizkid at the 2021 Grammy Awards, the actress has questioned what might have contributed to that.
In a post sighted by Newshuntermag.com, Beverly questioned how many rich men have invested in the Ghanaian music industry.
She also advised Ghanaians to stop criticizing the musicians because they are doing their best.
Instead of chastising them, Beverly Afaglo said they should applaud these musicians who are trying.
She wrote on Instagram: “Which other African country apart from Nigeria won a Grammy? Aside Nigeria are we the only African country that has musicians? Whats Ghana’s population again?🤔 How many musicians do we have? How many hv been able to break boundaries so far? How many hv been signed by international record labels or have links abroad?
“How many of our so called rich men have invested in our industry to reach higher heights? Are our artists talented? Are they sleeping or they’re trying? Guys pls let them be, they are trying. Music is not easy, let’s applaud them and not criticize them. WE ARE PROUD OF GHANAIAN MUSICIANS, baby steps we’ll get there.”
A lot of Ghanaian music fans have scolded musicians in the country for their failure to win at the Grammys.
