The BE Hive, a Digital Foundation Africa collaborative innovation hub in the Bono East, Ahafo and Savannah Regions of Ghana have partnered with Wikipedia through its West African representative Open Foundation West Africa to set a Bono East Wiki chapter.

The hub is primarily set UP to educate and train the youth in the region to help in documenting and projecting the Bono East Region to the world on its potentials from agriculture to tourism etc.

During the launch of the hub in Techiman the Bono East Capital, Mrs. Ruby D. Brown the lead facilitator from the Open Foundation West Africa charged the empowered youth to write content that will not only promote investment in the region but also document the rich and history of the Region.

The 2-day training saw about 30 youth being trained and equipped with the necessary tools to help in their work for the region and beyond as they are now part of the Wikipedia family globally.

Mr Foster Kofi Sam, the Chief Vision Officer of the Digital Foundation Africa and co-founder at the BE Hive Hub encouraged the youth in the region to take advantage of BE Hive’s facilities and programmes as there would be more collaborations with other entities to help the youth of Bono East acquire digital skills and also develop their ideas into viable businesses.

He furthermore encouraged them to make efficient use of the Wikipedia platform in documenting the successes and achievements of the region.
