Budding South African musician, Mabasa Sindiso, otherwise known as Mr Eben, has revealed how difficult it is for someone to get a breakthrough as a musician in the country.
He made this disclosure during an interview with Newshuntermag.com’s Kofi Oppong Kyekyeku on Unlimited Chat With K.O.K.
According to him, his journey in the music scene has not been an easy one.
He detailed that one needs a lot of financial backing to be successful as a musician in South Africa—because talent alone cannot make it happen.
Talking about the challenges he has faced, Mr Eben recounted how he struggled to record his first track as a High School student.
Sadly, some of his songs were stolen when he attempted to pitch them to some record labels.
He added that musicians who are fortunate to be signed by record labels get breakthrough within the music scene in South Africa easily.
Mr Eben indicated most of the record labels in the country have what it takes to manage talents.
He prayed to get his breakthrough in the near future after he has got the financial backing.
