Veteran Ghanaian journalist, Sekyere Poporo Boateng has died.

Newshuntermag.com has learnt has passed on yesterday, June 7, 2021.

Mr Boateng worked with GBC, Peace FM, Adom FM, Happy FM and Hot FM before his demise.

He sadly died at the age of 73.

Fred Kyei Mensah (Fredyma), a popular sound engineer in Ghana paid tribute to the deceased in a post on Facebook.

Fredyma wrote: “REST WELL GREAT ONE. The death was announced yesterday of Sekyere “Poporo” Boateng, formerly of GBC, Peace fm, Adom fm, Happy fm and Hot fm. He was 73 years.
I got to know him through a program called “Antirepa” an akan language magazine program on the then GBC SW 1 and 2 around 1980.

“Later when he joined Peace fm, i started recording jingles and voice overs with him. In fact, almost all the voice overs for Happy fm around 2003 which had his voice was recorded by me.
We also did a lot of corporate,company and individual businesses radio and tv commercials especially “Angel ointment fatwi k3k3” which was a commercial success. My condolence to the family. Rest well great one.”
