The Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions’ chapter of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has held its first meeting after the outbreak of COVID-19.

Gatherings of the union were halted due to the effect of the Coronavirus.

The first-ever meeting of the BA MUSIGA took place at their new office located at the Center For National Culture (CNC) in Sunyani on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

Newshuntermag.com has gathered that the purpose of the meeting was about MUSIGA’s upcoming elections in 2022 and how members can renew their membership cards.

The BA MUSIGA Election Committee Chairman, Stephen Nyamekye aka Barnabas, revealed that veteran musician, CST Amankwaa and Elder Aboagye has been named among the committee members.

He urged the members to play pivotal roles in making the union vibrant—in order to attract young musicians in the three BA regions.

Mr Nyamekye also thanked the management of CNC for handing over their new office to them after renovation.

The National MUSIGA Treasurer, Kofi Agyeman, who was present at the meeting, advised the members to utilize the means of generating revenues from their crafts.

Mr Agyeman further implored the leaders and members of the BA MUSIGA to put measures in place and organize an annual music festival which is to be christened Bonokyempem Grand Ball.
