Wa Naa has spoken against the lashing of a girl and boy in a leaked video.
Some youth were captured flogging the offenders in a video which went viral on Tuesday.
Wa Naa, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV through his spokesperson, Naa Kadri Ibrahim, Jinpehi Naa condemned the incident.
He told GNA in an interview that the Waa Naa, himself and the principal chiefs were not present at the palace when the youth took such a decision.
“Whoever took that decision to have them flogged has erred and must be arrested and brought to book.
“The position of His Majesty, Wa Naa, and for that matter, the palace, is that that is an unfortunate incident and we condemn the act of flogging and we are going ahead to collaborate with the police to see how professionally, they will go about it. It is something that we are not for. We are not for it at all,” Na Ibrahim stated.`
He added that the youth should have reported the victims to the police and they shouldn’t have taken the law into their own hands.
It appears the youth were unhappy about the rampant reports of leaked videos and hookups in the area.
