Ghanaian musician, Kelvin Agyekum, otherwise known as Kurl Songx, has shared his view on the TikTok brouhaha.
TikTok has been a subject of discussion after TikTok star, Asantewaa claimed in a discussion on UTV that musicians cannot get viral songs without TikTokers.
She was heavily chastised over her statement.
Commenting on this in an interview with Tony Best on Akoma FM that Newshuntermag.com has come across, Kurl Songx said the relevance of TikTok should not be downplayed.
The ‘Jennifer Lomotey’ hitmaker stated that TikTok is a good promotional tool.
“I accept wholeheartedly that the traditional media, Television, Radio, are the core of promoting music everywhere including Ghana but we cannot lose sight of the fact that TikTok is the new trend and it is also having its impact.
“People should not be chastised when they opine that TikTok is having a positive reflection on the Ghanaian music,” he said.
Kurl Songx added: “I believe that it is a good promotional tool which should be encouraged. Let’s all learn to infuse new things and live with it.”
