Nigerian singer and rising star, Promise Oladimeji Aloba, known famously as MohBad has sadly passed on at the age of 27.
His management confirmed the tragic news in a social media statement, saying the singer passed away on the evening of Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
MohBad’s promoter Ovie shared the news on Twitter (X) saying, “Confirmed. MohBad is dead. Sad, sad day. R.I.P.”
He quickly added, “It’s important to apply wisdom and caution when it comes to Mohbad’s demise. I’m already seeing some wild tweets. Do not make ridiculous insinuations. Be very careful.”
A statement was later posted on the singer’s Instagram which read:
“It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Promise Oladimeji Aloba PK/A Mohbad (Imole) today, the 12th of September, 2023. Mohbad was light until the very end, and as we mourn the loss of the brightness he carried, the family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during his difficult time. Imole is finally at peace.”
Fans of the baritone Afrobeat singer behind hits such as “Pariwo”, “Peace”, and “Ask About Me”, have been left in devastation as tributes continue to pour in.
The cause of the artist’s death has not been confirmed yet.
