The Municipal Chief Executive of the Sunyani Municipality, Hon Ansu Kumi and his colleague who is the Municipal Chief Executive for the Sunyani West Municipality, Hon Evans Kusi Boadum visited the Sunyani Airport on Tuesday evening to ascertain firsthand information on the arrangements for the commissioning of the much anticipated refurbished Airport in the Sunyani Municipality which was shut down in 2015 by the erstwhile Mahama Administration.
Observing the progress of activities ahead of hosting the president of the Republic, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo for the commissioning, the Municipal Chief Executives were satisfied with the arrangements so far.
The President is expected to commission the first phase of the rehabilitation works done and completed today, Wednesday 3rd August 2022 at the premises of the airport with a concurrent cutting of sod for the commencement of the second phase which would include a mini airport city facilities and new a modern terminal amongst many other infrastructural facilities.
Details of the outcome of the commissioning and green light for the commencement of the second phase would be made available on the various news portals in the coming days.
