Ghanaian media personality, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, otherwise known as Captain Smart, is reported to have been picked by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
A few days ago, the Deputy Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, hinted at a lawsuit against the vocal broadcast journalist in a statement.
This was after he was alleged to have said that President Akufo-Addo is actively involved in illegal mining activities.
The employers of Captain Smart claimed in a statement that he was picked up on Wednesday, October 19.
“It is therefore strange and sad that the government has chosen the route of intimidation and harassment.
“It is unclear where he is being kept as operatives almost run company executives of the road in an attempt to follow the convoy of umarked vehicles that whisked him away from the kawukudi office of NIB,” part of Media General’s statement read.
“MG and all its affiliates will keep mounting pressure on the government to stop paying lip service to the war against galamsey and stop the pollution of our rivers and water bodies,” it added.
