Ghanaian musician, King Promise, has declared his love for Black Sherif.
He opened up on his love for Sherif in an interview with Berla Mundi on Tv3’s The Day Show which Newshuntermag.com has come across.
“I love Blacko, I love Blacko’s album, as he continues to do stuff,” the ‘Tokyo’ composer said.
About the criticisms that Sherif’s album should have won the VGMA 2023 Album of the Year and not his, Promise reacted:
“But I think when it comes to things like this even the times that I have been nominated that I didn’t win, there were so many people who thought I deserved it and should have won but it doesn’t mean whoever won did not deserve it and I respect it.”
“And I heard him speak about it. Big ups to Blacko. His album is one of my favourites as well. I love Blacko,” he added.
When asked about the connection between them, King Promise averred: “We haven’t worked together but we have a connection, sometimes not because we are friends we should force the song, I like it to be very natural. Like I Knew Sark for four years before we made a song, same thing with R2Bees, I knew Wizkid a long time before we did a song.”
He further hinted at their collaboration.
“I can’t reveal a lot of things but we plan on working soon, big smash, of course, it’s coming.”
Promise’s response comes after Black Sherif earlier disclosed that he loves his ‘5 Star’ album which beat his album in the VGMA 2023 Album of the Year category.
