Ghanaian music producer, David Kojo Kyei, well-known as Kaywa, has opened up about how much he spends to produce a hit song.

Speaking in an interview with Giovanni and AJ Sarpong on the 3FM Drive which Newshuntermag.com has come across, the CEO of Highly Spiritual Music revealed he spends over GHS 100,000 to produce one hit song.

He indicated the amount includes the shooting of a music video and promotions.

“More than 100,000 for one hit single. (Between videos and promotions, which one takes most of the money?) Videos. Sometimes we can shoot videos worth 70,000. Sometimes, some people don’t understand the conversation. You put in a lot of money,” the famous Ghanaian music producer disclosed.

In order not to let talents go to waste, Kaywa stated that he has to try even when funds are not available sometimes.

“Sometimes, there is no money but looking at the talent, you just can’t allow it to go to waste so you do everything to make it work,” he said.

Talking about the lucrativeness of the music business, Kaywa posited:

“It really is if you do it well. Check your streaming platforms and ask any artiste that does it pretty well, you’ll know that there is some great money coming in if you are doing it well.

“It’s business but it’s a risk. Putting money in fresh talents is not an easy job but we trust the process. Sometimes, there is no money but looking at the talent, you just can’t allow it to go to waste so you do everything to make it work.”
