Ghanaian musician and reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif has notched another prestigious honor in his collection at the 2023 Headies Awards held in Atlanta in the United States on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

The artist matched up with other musicians such as Gyakie, Camidoh, and The Therapist from Liberia in the “West African Artiste of the Year” category and ultimately emerged victorious.

This new victory reinforces his status as a remarkable force in Afro-music beyond the shores of Ghana and Africa.

During the event, he delivered an outstanding performance of his mega-hit, “Kwaku the Traveller” much to the joy of a charged audience.

He also expressed gratitude to his fans upon receiving the award on stage.

“Thank you so much to the fans, to the listeners. Thank you Headies, thank you Nigeria. Thank you, Ghana. Thank you Konongo Zongo, I love you,” he said.
