Ghanaian musician Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr. laid his father to rest today, September 30, 2023, at Trede in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Some photos and videos taken at the event captured the highlife singer seated close to his late father’s wife in a dejected state as his family tried to comfort him.
Akwaboah Jnr. had earlier opened up about how the passing of his father whom he shared a unique and close relationship had deeply affected him.
“I was closer to him than anyone else in the world. My dad was everything to me. With him gone now, who would be straight with me and tell it to me as it is? Indeed, it’s been tough without him and I am going to miss him greatly. You see, what I had with my dad was so strong that I heard from him every day and I always ran to him when something beat my mind,” he told Graphic Showbiz.
According to him, his father was instrumental in his music career taking off and all the songs he has released went through his consideration and criticism first.
Singer-songwriter and record producer, Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr., known for his famous songs such as “Awer3kyekyer3” and “Hini Me” among others, passed away on May 16, 2023, after a brief illness.
Friends and families as well as members of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) attended the funeral ceremony.
