Doubts have been raised by some New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives of the Dome-Kwabenya constituency regarding the genuineness of the apology rendered to them by Member of Parliament, Honorable Adwoa Safo.
The MP in a recent video issued an apology to the leadership of the NPP following her protracted absence from parliament in the past year which created a seat vacancy. She attributed her absence to family and personal reasons.
General Secretary of the constituency, Theophilus Larbi, while speaking on behalf of his outfit on citinews, explained that although her apology may have been accepted, the MP should discard any hopes of reclaiming her seat.
“If she rendered an unqualified apology, who are we as humans to say we are not taking it? We have accepted her apology, but what does she want us to do for her after the apology? If she is interested in the seat again, then what I will say as a Constituency Secretary is that we are sorry,” He said.
He added that several constituency members have resolved to vote against the party should Honorable Adwoa Safo make a comeback, hence, the party’s concerns.
“We are the representation of the people in this constituency. The majority of the people say if we bring Honorable Adwoa Safo back again, they will not vote for the party, and as a person and officer who means well for this party, I have to listen,” he asserted.
