Well-known Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, A.K.A. Lilwin has sparked public outcry for spraying money on some people on the streets.
The actor-turned-politician who announced his intention to contest the Afigya Kwabere South constituency seat in 2024 was seen around the West Hills Mall in a video posted on his Instagram page showering cash on a crowd that had surrounded his vehicle.
The video was posted ahead of Lilwin’s anticipated show dubbed “Celebrity Shopping” at the West Hills Mall slated for Saturday, September 9, 2023.
Several people were seen jostling to grab some of the money being thrown by the actor as he stood through the sunroof of his vehicle.
In the wake of the incident, several internet users have registered their displeasure and descended heavily on the actor, deeming the manner of cash distribution an offensive way of showing benevolence.
“Why?! I mean if you really want to help these people, get out of your car, place money in envelopes, and give it to them directly”, one netizen fumed.
“Thowing money into a crowd like this can cause stampede”, another said.
“I don’t think this is right”, someone wrote.
“You can do this but you don’t have to crumple the money for any reason”, another user said.
