Shatta vs. Stonebwoy Concert Clash: We Have Not Booked Anybody For The Stadium Yet – National Sports Authority Says

The National Sports Authority (NSA) has said that neither Shatta Wale nor Stonebwoy has secured the Accra Sports Stadium to hold their December concerts yet.

In an interview with GhanaWeb today, September 20, 2023, the Director General of the agency, Prof. Peter Twumasi said that a decision has not been reached concerning who gets the place to hold their concert.

He explained that both Stonebwoy and Shatta have requested the space, however, the process of signing a contract is still ongoing, hence, it would be inaccurate for any of the artists to claim the venue for themselves.

“None of them has a contract with us [National Sports Authority]. We are just helping to support their industry. We are yet to sign a contract, so don’t bother too much. For now, they are going through the process of getting the contract with the NSA, it’s not even done yet,” he explained.

“If you write a letter and request for a space, then we will look at it and see whether we can offer you or not, but we don’t have authority over what we can offer and what we cannot. We are thinking that the stadium is multi-purpose in use and over the years we have been accommodating them [artists] bit by bit so it shouldn’t create any controversies unless they are just using it to promote their shows,” he added.

His comments come on the backdrop of the rekindled drama between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, with the latter accusing the former of upending his Freedom Wave Festival scheduled for December 25, 2023.

Shatta claims Stonebwoy’s planned Bhim Concert on December 22, will affect his show, considering the days of preparation that such a venue requires prior to the event.

On a Facebook Live today, Shatta heavily descended on Stonebwoy in unprintable words, threatening to slap and kick him if they ever crossed paths.
