The death of popular Ghanaian waakye seller, Auntie Muni, has been confirmed by her family.

Auntie Muni, known in private life as Imoro Muniratu, passed on at the age of 72.

She reportedly died at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, following a short illness.

Auntie Muni’s son, Alhassan Abdul Arafat, confirmed the demise of his mother in an interview Newshuntermag.com came across.

He disclosed that his mother was not well and was initially taken to the SSNIT Hospital before a request to discharge her was made when complications arose.

“After two days, we realised she was still not feeling well, so we rushed her to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for medical attention, and this morning at 3 am, she passed away,” Arafat sadly revealed.
