Ghanaian media personality, Naa Ashorkor, has called on authorities to focus on the female teams in the country.
She made this plea after the Black Stars of Ghana failed to qualify for the round of 16 of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023).
If you would recall, Ghana drew 2-2 with Mozambique on Monday, January 22, 2023, when they needed a win to book a ticket for the next stage of the tournament.
Reacting to this in a Twitter (X) post-Newshuntermag.com came across, Naa Ashorkor told Ghanaians and authorities to support the female teams.
She reiterated the good performances of the Black Princesses and Black Queens recently.
The TV3 presenter said they should be given the needed funding and support.
“It’s time to focus on the female teams. The Black Princesses have qualified for the U20 women’s World Cup. Last year the Black Queens won all their games except one. Give them the funding they need, give them the support,” she wrote.
Many Ghanaians have registered their displeasure after the disappointing performance by the Black Stars of Ghana.
