Award winning Ghanaian Actor, Agya Koo, known in real life as Kofi Adu would by now regret showing his buttocks and sex organs in the all time hit movie, ‘Okomfo Anokye’. Just when the huge controversy that greeted Agya Koo’s buttocks-showing saga is about fading off, organizers of the 2013 ZAFAA Awards have nominated him for the category of ‘Best Actor’ for his role in the movie; but the producer, Paul Adjei of Paul Gee Productions says the award should not be given to the actor. NEWS-ONE has gathered that Paul Gee has written to representatives of ZAFAA asking them to retract Agya Koo’s nomination because the actor had publicly denied that he played the complete role of the lead character in the said movie. It would be recalled that when NEWS-ONE broke the story that Agya Koo had gone nude in a movie, the actor took offence and hopped from one radio station to another denying that he was the one who played the nude role.
Though Paul Gee insisted the
person who showed his
buttocks was Agya Koo, the
actor continued to deny and
even threatened to go to
court over the matter because
it was creating some
embarrassment for him.
NEWS-ONE even published
photographs that showed
Agya Koo (playing the role of
the legendary Ashanti
traditional priest, Okomfo
Anokye) taking his bath naked
on the banks of a river. In
other shots, some three
women were seen spying on
his nakedness.
But the actor, till date,
continues to swear he never
did such a thing.
It is however not certain how
the organizers would handle
the petition from Paul Gee
and whether Agya Koo would,
this time around, accept that
he indeed played the
complete role of Okomfo
Anokye and that the naked
buttocks was his.
