Ghana Premier League Round Up, Hearts, Kotoko Record Narrow Wins

Kwabena Adusei converted a last-gasp

penalty at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to

hand Asante Kotoko a narrow 1-0 win over

New Edubiase United in a nail-biting

encounter on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors struggled to break

down a resilient Edubiase side with playmaker

Asiedu Attobrah handing them a nightmarish

game before their home fans.

Alhassan Nuhu took his marching orders

midway through the second half and Kotoko

took advantage of the numerical advantage to

heap pressure on their visitors.

The game travelled deep into injury-time

before a defender handled the ball inside the

Edubiase box.

Adusei stepped up and rattled the net to keep

Kotoko's perfect round intact.

Elsewhere at the Tema Park, Hearts of Oak got

back to their winning ways after surviving a

late scare to beat league debutants Inter Allies

3-2.

Attacker Winful Cobbinah scored twice in the

first half for Hearts (13th and 24th) but

Goeckel Ahotor halved the deficit for Allies in

the 35th minute.

But Selasi Adjei restored the two-goal

advantage for Hearts six minutes before the

break.

Hearts tried to increase the tally but Selasi

wasted most of the chances that came his

way.

A horrible howler committed by Tetteh

Luggard gifted Allies another goal in the 81st

minute.

Heart of Lions needed a double strike Nana

Agyiri to beat visiting Amidaus Professionals

2-1 at the Kpando Park.

Agyiri, a former Hearts of Oak striker, scored

first from open play before converting from

the spot.

Daniel Awuney netted from a penalty kick

award in the 75th minute to help Lions to

their first win of the campaign.

A sublime finish from Daniel Kodie gave

Liberty Professionals a slim 1-0 win over King

Faisal in what was a highly entertaining game

at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Godbless Asamoah scored a fine equaliser for

Medeama SC at the Golden City Park in

Berekum as they held Berekum FC to a 1-1

stalemate.

Youngster Godwin Tetteh had scored first for

the Blues following a dazzling move by Nana

Poku from inside the box.

AshGold had to hold onto an early strike from

Francis Agyei to beat Wa All Stars 1-0 at the

Len Clay Stadium.

Bechem United handed Ebusua Dwarfs their

first defeat of the season with Toffiq Ayola

scoring the only goal of the game in the 20th

minute at the Bechem Park.
