I’m not dating Kaakie, she is a baby – Samini
Having been away for three months in North America and Canada,
Ghanaian dancehall artiste and CEO (Crucial Entertainment Outlaw) of
music, Samini, says his fans should watch out for bigger things to
come from him. When JoyNews on MultiTV's entertainment programme, THE
WHITE CARPET played host to him on its celebrity hangout segment,
Samini said whilst in the United States he performed at four different
concerts but looked forward to coming back home to give his fans
enough reason to continue loving him. Samini said his major stage
appearance since his return is the Kwabena Kwabena Save a Life
Concert. On the issue of speculations of a feud between Nigeria's
Wizkid and Ghanaian hiplife group R2Bees Samini said there is no
grudge and that Mugeez of R2Bees will find it funny to hear that
people think they are not on good terms. He explained the song in
question, 'TIME BOMB' which features Wizkid was originally supposed to
also feature Mugeez of R2Bees. But Mugeez thought it brilliant to step
back and allow just him and Wizkid to be on it. Samini blamed
promoters for his inability to perform together with Wizkid on 'TIME
BOMB' during the recent Ghana meets Naija concert. "A lot of things
made it difficult for the performance to go down. The promoters should
have coordinated to see how they wanted the performances to go. It was
minutes to the show when they told Wizkid to perform 'Time Bomb' with
me before he leaves the stage and I guess he also had his plan of
performance he wanted to do. That was the excuse they gave so it was
difficult blending". Contrary to reports that his song PINK SHEET was
directed at his fellow musicians, Samini tried to clear the air that
it was just a harmless mix-tape on real talents who last in the
industry. On his relationship with self- acclaimed dancehall King,
Shata Wale and whether he is a real talent who would last, Samini said
he does not wish him to fade anytime soon. "I think he is a very
talented person. He is a real talent". Samini sought to clarify more
issues he had refrained to comment on for all this while. He said
Kaakie, the dancehall queen is not his girlfriend. "I'm not dating
Kaakie, she's is a baby. Am even looking forward to whoever is brave
to wanna handle my little girl…" Samini, who has been in the music
industry for about a decade since age 21 says he is just about
starting his music career, indicating to show host, Gladys Osei
Owiredu how much music he still has in him. The well composed Samini
who sounded like a legend said "for the strength of the dancehall
music industry, it will be heavy to do a beat with Stone Bouy, Shata
Wale, Kaakie, Jupiter" and a host of them. Samini is currently working
on his new album, NEXT PAGE which will be outdoored soon. Reports
reaching 'The White Carpet' indicates Samini will soon become the
owner of a pub and restaurant here in Accra.
