This year's edition of the Radio and TV
Personality Awards scheduled to take place at
the Accra International Conference Centre on
Thursday December 5 may not come off as
scheduled.
Peacefmonline.com has gathered that the
organizers have failed to pay for the venue and
secure other important things needed for the
show to go on successfully.
Following an allegation made on Peace FM's
"Entertainment Review" last Saturday November
30 by a listener via text message that the venue
had not been booked, Entertainment Review
crew decided to check from management of the
venue to ascertain the truth.
After a meeting with Conference Centre officials,
they disclosed to Peace FM exclusively this
morning that Big Events Ghana, organizers of
the event have not paid for the venue as at
10am this morning even though adverts are still
running on all media platforms (Radio, TV,
Online, and print and social media), that the
awards night is coming off this evening.
All efforts to reach CEO of Big Events Ghana,
Prince Mckay have proven futile.
Meanwhile Mckay, who was present in the studio
during last Saturday's "Entertainment Review"
program, denied the allegation stating
categorically that he has paid for the venue and
that there was no problem at all with the venue
arrangements.
However, Peacefmonline.com is reliably
informed that Empire Entertainment, organizers
of "Back In The Day" Concert which will feature
Grammy Award winning Hip Hop group, Naughty
By Nature, which is coming off tomorrow Friday
December 6 at the same venue, have booked the
place for two days (one day for setup and the
next day for the main event).
This implies that Bola Ray's Empire
Entertainment has secured the venue for both
today and tomorrow for their show.
In a related development, management of
highlife living legend, Abrantie Amakyi Dede who
is the lead act on the tonight says they have not
concluded arrangement with the organizers so
Amakyi Dede may not mount the stage if they
do not hear from the organizers.
Now the big question is… will the RTP Awards
2013 come off tonight as planned and if it will,
where precisely in Accra?
