Dede and Jordan Ayew win player of the month awards
Ghana duo Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew
have been voted as Olympique Marseille's
and Sochaux's best player for the month of
May respectively.
The Ayew brothers have been the most
outstanding players for their French outfits
in the month in question.
Andre was voted ahead of the likes of
Benoit Cheyrou, Florian Thauvin, Steve
Mandanda, Mathieu Valbuena and
Senegalese centre-back Souleyman
Diawara, who also put up fantastic
performances for the Stade Velodrome
outfit.
Ayew, who won the Marseille's player of
the month of April, was phenomenal in
May as well, scoring one goal against
Guingamp at the Stade Vélodrome last
weekend.
His younger brother, Jordan, was the most
popular figure in the Sochaux set up,
selling more personalised shirts than any
other player in the club.
The 22-year-old was also impressive for
the relegated French side, scoring his six
goals since crossing over from Olympique
Marseille on loan during the January
transfer window.
But the month of May was the greatest
period for the forward's career in the just
ended season.
Jordan netted two goals against Rennes and
Nice and was voted ahead of Zambian
defender Stopilla Sunzu and French right
winger Sebastien Corchia.
He will rejoin his elder brother, Andre, at
Marseille next season after completing his
four-month loan deal at Sochaux.
