The 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) Producer of the Year is a distraught man. What was supposed to be a double celebration for him has turned sour. DJ Breezy, as he is popularly known, was adjudged the best producer in Ghana at the Industry Awards of the 16th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards last Monday. While he was at the main awards at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) Saturday night and hoping to celebrate his birthday after the awards, on April 12, thieves broke into his studio. The thieves made away virtually with valuables running into thousands of Ghana cedis. Known to be the man behind several hit songs, including ‘Seihor’, ‘Personal Person’, and ‘Tonga’, DJ Breezy said he is back to square one in his career. He posted a photograph of his ransacked studio on Instagram disclosing the thieves made away with his MacBook Pro, laptop, iMac, studio computer, hard drive, flat screens, bag with his ATM cards and other vital documents. “As we were at the awards, thieves broke into the studio and my room, took everything from my MacBook Pro retina display, laptop, iMac ,studio computer, hard drive, flat screens, my bag with my ATM cards and other vital documents, sneakers and so many other things,” he said. “I can say I’m back to zero again!!!” the producer noted and added that his beats and yet-to-be-released works are all gone. “[Please] if by any chance [you] get to see anybody, selling this kind of stuffs somewhere, [please] kindly hit me up or any police station near [you, thanks] so much,” DJ Breezy appealed. “My birthday turned to a sad day,” he said. DJ Breezy is signed to Black Avenue Music owned by rapper D-Black.
