Controversial hiplife artiste Barima Sydney has disclosed that he will stage a ‘one man’ demonstration against Power Minister Kwabena Donkor if ‘dumsor’ enters 2016 but the Minister does not resign.
“The Power Minister promised to resign if he is unable to end dumsor by the end of the year – I expect him to resign if dumsor does not end by the end of December or else I will stage a one man demonstration against,” he told Mike 2 on Adom Entertainment Hall.
Barima Sydney noted that leaders are accountable to the citizens and they must be taken on for their promises.
According to him, Kwabena Donkor’s promise to resign if he fails solve dumsor by the close of this year, should not be taken lightly because the dumsor has worsened.
The Rap Ninja observed that the worsening power crisis has caused a huge decline in businesses, especially the music industry because artistes do not get reliable power to record their songs.
Time is catching up with the Power Minister and so recently he attempted to shift the goalposts by saying he promised to solve dumsor, which is the erratic load shedding, and not the organised load shedding.
But some Ghanaians have replied the minister saying dumsor is just an Akan parlance for the load shedding so the minister cannot use semantics to get off the hook.
Barima Sydney agrees with Ghanaians, saying that the minister’s excuse is weak and untenable.
Sydney is among leading celebrities who organized the famous ‘Dumsormuststop’ vigil and social media campaign.
He said his colleagues are gearing up to act on the Power Minister’s promise if he fails to stick to it.
Other leading members of the “Dumsormuststop” campaign include actress Yvonne Nelson and hip-life giant Sarkodie/
Van Vicker, Ama K. Abebrese, David Osei, comedian DKB, D. Black and others are also part.
