 Movies

pictures and sound to tell a story. Many times such stories needs talented,
versatile and well trained characters or persons to be able to tell a good story,
such persons are known as actors and actresses.

 Xandy
Kamel belongs to the movie industry, and has her image as a moving picture in
the movies we watch now a days. Starring in 5pm, four forty, Destiny, Precious Gold,
The Promise and many others.

The
beautiful actress as gain recognition in Ghana and Nigeria. Endowed with lots
of talents Xandy Kamel has worked with renowned and celebrated actors
,actresses and musicians such as Kofi Adjorlol, Nigerians godfather of movies
Olu Jacobs, ghana’s untouchable  kwadwo
Nkansah Lil Win, Kwaku  Manu, Emeliay
Brobbey, Maame Serwaa, Yvonne Nelson, Nigerian’s music sensation Wizkid  amongst others.
The young,
beautiful, talented and versatile Actress Xandy shares her challenges in the
Ghanaian movie industry as an actress.
“First of
all I will start by saying ‘Ghana has no movie Industry’, it’s a hard truth but
as an actress I must voice it out , it’s never done anyway across the world but
in Ghana it’s possible to have Ghallywood, classified by many as an industry
for English speaking and  Accra based
actors and actresses and Kumawood as an industry for Twi speaking and Kumasi
based actors and actresses,” She mentioned.
“It
saddens my heart to see our neighbouring countries choking success in having a
one brand for their industry, Nigeria’s Nollywood for example; such well
branded industry makes it possible for the government to invest and allows
investors in to the industry. I believe Ghana will soon have a brand names or
movie industries in various regions  , ‘Sunawood’
for the people of Brong Ahafo, ‘Voltawood’ , ‘Northernwood’” ,she said busting
in to laughter.
Respect,
unity to mention a few, are factors hindering the progress of the Ghanaian
movie industry.
According
to her the industry even finds it difficult for its stakeholders to mingle,
socialize and share ideas due to the separation and having of two industry
names in the country.
The actress,
yet to receive a breakthrough in the Ghanaian movie industry, disclosed
“the Ghanaian movie industry is corrupt; there are only few producers in
Ghana who offers opportunities to young and upcoming actors and actresses. The
quest for money turns the minds and eyes of producers away from awarding roles
to deserving actors and actresses.
“Well they
say nothing in this world comes easy but I also believe we as individuals can
make the world an easy and a better place to be. I have experienced a lot in my
acting career which I have learnt from , being patient, learning on the go ,
tolerating and accepting situation as and when they come are but a few of them.”
