Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
Criss Waddle who is the CEO of AMG Business has finally opened
up about how he rescinded his decision to abandon music and how Sarkodie played
an immense role in resurrecting his talent.

The Rapper behind the “JOY DADDY” hit song made some
exclusive revelations on Sky FM when he spoke to Ike Frimpong on Saturday 25th
of May 2016. He told Listeners of LOUD IN GH about the role BET award- winning
artist Sarkodie played in his come back to music.
He said: “Sarkodie,
paedae, Yaa pono and I used to do battle, I never lost a battle just as
Sarkodie.
I stopped doing music around 2006 to 2010 and the person that
talked me back into doing music was Sarkodie when he came to America. He was
like to apart from him (Sarkodie) he doesn’t see anybody doing real rap because
people don’t even understand rapping and he missed the days I used to be a
rapper, so I felt like if the best rapper in Ghana sees the talent in me and
think I could resurrect my talent why not try? So I started doing mix tapes.”
Criss Waddle who had an emotional meltdown on social media  a long time ago over  treatment metted out to by him by his R2bees
family, affirmed his position in the group was still firm and explained its
affiliation with AMG.
“Am an artist under R2bees record label. Lots of people are
confused; AMG is under R2bees just as Young Money record is under Cash Money
records. R2bees is not my company, am only an artist on the label, so if I want
to sign an artist I can’t sign that artist and bring him to R2bees so I had to
form my own company, that’s AMG so I could sign Artists like Medikal and other
artists am about to sign. I am a product of R2bees so anybody who comes under
me is a product of AMG” he explained
Since the Inception of AMG, there have been several meanings to
the name. This is what the CEO himself said when he was asked to explain.
“AMG has 2 meanings, Amanfo) girls is one and Arab Money Gang (Excess
Money Crew) lol.”
In a recent interaction with fans on Facebook, he revealed that
Medikal is the “Prince” of AMG. He shared with Sky FM how he got to
meet Medikal.
“When I started doing Mix tapes back in America, the guy
who i sent them to in Ghana had Medikal as his artist, so he sent me his songs
and i liked it, I thought he had a great talent and didn’t have the resources
so I told him I wanted to sign him. I always had the dream of wanting to be
like Lil Wayne where you have a lot of artists under you that you’re going to
make successful, Medikal has been part of AMG since 2012 it’s just that the
right time came a year ago and that’s when he came out, I discovered a talent,
I heard his songs, I liked it and i thought maybe with the right resources he
could be a relevant and great artist that’s why I decided to sign him
Due to his flashy Lifestyle, many music lovers often see and tag
him as the richest musician in the country, with others appearing very
inquisitive about the source of his wealth, whether it was acquired from just
music. The AMG Boss cleared the air on that, saying ” I have said this
multiple times, am a business man am into giving loans and doing properties,
even as I talk to you am driving to one of my properties outside Tema, and we
have a clearing and forwarding agency too that clears and forward stuff to
people in America and help import from America.”
He was asked if he was in anyway gaining directly from doing
music, The Rapper replied “There’s money in music of course, I take music
money, I have piled up shows that am going take their moneys, it’s not like
it’s for free. I was a business man before i started doing music. “
Criss waddle who comes from a music oriented genealogy, again
stressed he does music because he was born in to it.
“I’m not really doing music for the fame like a lot of
people think. I was born into a music family, my Dad is Agyaaku of Serwaa Akoto
fame, my big brother is Kwesi pee is a Hi- life musician. So I was actually
born in to a music family, even Rex Omar is my uncle that’s why am here”
he responded
One will expect Criss Waddle to be doing anything aside what’s
he currently in to if his background is anything to go with. But the rapper
attributed the choice of doing anything but hi-life to the generation he finds
himself in ” I honestly think it’s because of the Era and my environment
and type of music that came up at the time I wanted to do music, I think if my
Dad was born today or 20 years ago he would have been doing hip -life” he
concluded.
Criss Waddle also talked about his upcoming projects, as well as
Medikal’s. He said “I have a lot of songs coming out; I have two hip hop songs
that am going outside Ghana to shoot a video for one of them titled
“Glory” and features a Nigerian Artist. Medikal is also dropping
“pressure” which features Bisa K dei, am also signing two artists
after Ramadan and will start working on their projects.”
He left his fans with these words of encouragement, “The only
thing I want to tell my fans is, never give up if I ever gave up, you wouldn’t
be listening to me right now, Sarkodie never gave up, Don’t give up on your
dreams, work hard and you can achieve it”
