Pharmacists To Soon Sign Condition Of Service — Health Minister

The Minister for Health, Mr. Alexander Segbefia has asked pharmacists in the country not to relent on their duties towards Ghanaians as plans of getting a condition of service for them are at its peak.

He said this after completion will demand that every health worker in the public sector has signed a condition of service.

According to the Health Minister, government is committed to the development of health of Ghanaians as it is a major contributor to higher production which will help develop the country’s economy.

Mr. Segbefia made this known when he addressed pharmacists to officially open the 2016 edition of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) in Sunyani.

The AGM which is on the team “Pharmacy Practice: Optimising patient safety” saw the coming together of pharmacists from the length and breadth of the country.

The Health Minister, Alex Segbefia further called on pharmacists in the country to be extremely cautious on the level of safety of patients.

On his part the Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional minister, Justice Samuel Adjei called on participants who are mainly pharmacists to be professional in discharging their duties.

Meanwhile the President for the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), Pharm. Thomas Boateng has appealed to government to treat as extreme urgency issues relating to pharmacists working in the various government hospitals.
