CEO of New Start For Artisans and Technicians Movement, Mr. Boahen Kofi Philip has said government’s decision to expand polytechnics into technical universities may be a waste of time if industrial sites are not taken into consideration.

Mr. Boahen Kofi Philip speaking in an exclusive interview with the News Hunter Magazine postulated the need for artisans fund to be set up to encourage the youth to venture into this sector.

He however lauded the various political parties for making provisions in their manifestos to improve technical education.

Mr. Kofi Philip was hopeful that many Ghanaian youth will like to venture into this field if lucrative measures are put in place.

He posited that the field has the capacity to accommodate the many Ghanaian youth who are currently unemployed.

He called on stakeholders to hammer on things that will change the status quo of technical education in Ghana.

The first phase of the conversion of polytechnics into technical universities, took place in September this year, with six polytechnics.
