According to him, Ghanaians copy blindly—and overdo whatever
they learn from others.
they learn from others.
“They say sex sells…and we have now taken it to a different level.
It is creeping gradually into society and it is destroying our moral fabric. The
savaging of this situation is in the hands of the church. But they are also
indulging in some of the things that the world seems to be indulging in so we
do not see the way. But if they should change…then they should not preach about
money and material things. Aside preaching about salvation, they should preach
about how to love your country,” he said.

“They should inculcate those things into our people; Pride
for your country, How to love your country…and also teach people not to litter
the environment. We can found those things in the bible. People will rise up if
they begin to teach such things because the churches have more followers than
politicians,” Zapp Mallet added.

He asserted that what the pastors say carries more weight
than politicians.
than politicians.
“We have come to realize that politicians always lie to us
but we look up to pastors for salvation. Salvation does not consist of going to
heaven. It also consists of leaving on earth here and enjoying what God has
given us. How can we be living on a land of gold, oil and other things and also
queue in the sun to seek visas to travel. The materialism is too much,” he bemoaned.
