Ace Ghanaian female Radio and Television presenter, Maame Yeboah Asiedu, has advised Ghanaian parents to make conscious efforts at monitoring the lifestyles, behaviours and growth of their children so that they are not misled by the social media craze, currently in vogue.
She lamented at the situation where we now glorify sin and evil deeds, due to trends on social media, and said it was an affront to the proper and decent growth and development of our children and the youth of today.
Maame Yeboah Asiedu, fondly called ‘Maame Gold’ gave the advice in an interview with Melvina Frimpong Manso, host of Suncity Radio’s weekend entertainment show, ‘Showbiz 971’, over the weekend.
She attributed the wayward lifestyles of some of our Celebrities to lack of parental guidance, control and affection during their childhood, and tend to look for any opportunity to fill the gaps when they become stars.
“Some of our Celebs would do anything to gain love and acceptance, something they lacked growing up,” she revealed.
The Presenter who doubles as a Counsellor, urged parents to set good moral and disciplinary examples for their children to emulate and grow by it and become decent and responsible citizens in future, who would affect and impact their generation more positively.
“Train up the child the way they should go, so that when they grow, they would not depart from it,” she referred parents to this Biblical quotes.
“At age 42, my mother still chastises and corrects me when I go wrong, and this discipline has brought me this far and still growing.

“Let’s be friends with our children and share freely with them, and boost their self confidence for a better future for them as individuals and as a society,” Maame Yeboah Asiedu concluded.
