An ultra-modern shopping mall will soon be built in the Sunyani Municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Sunyani Municipal Assembly (SMA), Mrs Evelyn Kusi Richardson, disclosed this to Nana KAS in an interview on Suncity Radio’s flagship program, ‘Suncity Morning Drive’, on Tuesday.
She said two foreign companies were bidding for the project which is expected to take off later this year or early next year.
Mrs Kumi Richardson declined to name the location, but said two areas had been earmarked for the project, taking into account, proximity and other factors which would favour the sitting of the mall.
She further hinted that the two locations would still be used—one for Shopping Mall and the other for an International Conference Centre.
The MCE was of the view that the projects, when completed, would create jobs for many people (especially the youth) in the region and reduce the unemployment rate in the country.
