The mother of Ghanaian dancehall/reggae artiste, Shatta Wale-Madam Elsie Evelyn Avemegah has stated that she feels sad whenever she hears negative things about her son.

Madam Elsie said the negative things that people say about Shatta Wale pain her a lot.

“I feel sad when people say bad things about him [Shatta Wale]. I always pray for him,” she told Suncity 97.1 FM’s Melvina Frimpong Manso in an interview which was monitored by www.newshuntermag.com in Sunyani.

However, Madam Evelyn Avemegah indicated that she takes delight in the great achievements made by Shatta Wale.

Recounting Shatta Wale’s love for music in his childhood, she said: “He use to write songs in the exercise books that we bought for him. I supported him when he started his musical journey. I have supported him since Bandana days up to now.”

After a successful career in the Ghanaian music scene, a proud mother of the musician hopes that: “Shatta Wale’s songs will be studied at Universities across the globe. Nothing can harm Shatta Wale expect God.”

Madam Avemegah said she is not happy about the way Shatta Wale flaunts money on social media but she will advise him on that. She was hopeful that his son will change—after she has advised him.
