Renowned Ghanaian highlife singer and producer, Kwabena Nyamekye Amoo-Mensah, otherwise known as Pat Thomas, has stated that his effort was not rewarded after he composed a song for Asante Kotoko Soccer Club.

During an interview with Pure FM in Kumasi, the popular musician said he did the song because of the love he had for the club.

However, he expected some sort of appreciation from the management of Asante Kotoko.

According to him, the song which is now the official song of the club was recorded in 1982—and he didn’t earn even a pesewa from it.

“Every Kotoko supporter might think I have made a lot of money out of this song but I tell you I haven’t made a pesewa from this song. I recorded the song by myself for the love of the team. I haven’t made a pesewa out of it,” Pat Thomas revealed.
